The Beyond Reach
As I watch the sun set over the city, I can almost see your chestnut eyes in my own reflection in the windows. Something tugs at my heart so hard I think that I will go with the sun as it buries itself into the horizon. And I know it’s you reaching for me from the other side of the world. But I’m not (t)here anymore. I cut the cord when the pain of your grasp hurt so much I had to choose between my life and ours. So you can look for me, try to grasp my dress as I fade with the sun, but I am not (t)here. I am in another universe now, without you.
