In honor of my 29th birthday, I’ve created a list of the top 29 people I recommend following on Twitter. All of these people have inspired me and taught me valuable lessons through the past year. I am grateful to each and every one of them for the intelligence, compassion and (sometimes) spunk they display on their Twitter feeds. I highly recommend following them all!
Adam Packard: Adam is an amazing photographer that shares great tips about photography for brands (and personal use!) via his Twitter account.
Todd Fox: Todd is the king of inspiration. He is perfect for that pick-me-up that is often needed at 3pm on a work day.
Thea Neal: Thea is one of my favorite people personally and professionally! She is the new social media queen for Hallmark, so not only is Twitter account filled with its usual spunk and spark, it also now has fun behind-the-scenes content from Hallmark.
Jeff Sheehan: Jeff is one of the very first people that I followed on Twitter and I have not regretted it since. He is one of the most compassionate thought leaders on Twitter, providing life advice for the career-driven that everyone can use.
Jill Cress: Jill is a great voice to follow around women empowerment. She shares strong thoughts around how women can excel in business and also shares some compelling content from her role at National Geographic.
Marie Bonaccorse: Marie and I go back to my time at KOHLER. While I was running the KOHLER Twitter handle, she was dominating Twitter through the clever Charmin Twitter handle. We began some interesting conversations between a toilet brand and a toilet paper brand, and our friendship took off from there! Her personal Twitter feed is full of sarcasm and sass, making it an incredibly fun one to follow!
Bob Sands: Bob is hands down one of my favorite pastors to follow on Twitter. He approaches faith and his ministry with the mind of a businessman, which lends to an interesting perspective. Lately, his Twitter has even been filled with some spicy political tweets that are sure to get you thinking no matter which side you are on.
William Waddell: William is a ray of light on Twitter. His feedback is always encouraging and his Twitter feed is full of positive messaging. He is definitely worth a follow.
Roman Jancic: Roman’s Twitter feed is a great resource for everything web and inspiration. He’s a masterful web professional that has figured out how to make Twitter work for him.
Carlos Gil: Carlos is a must-follow for anyone in the social media world. He shares tons of helpful tips to manage social media for brands and has a great personality on Twitter.
Marsha Collier: I admit and I am slightly biased towards Marsha because we went to the same college (University of Miami). Not only is she an extremely accomplished author, she shares so many pieces of useful content for marketing professionals via her Twitter account.
Jenn Killam: Jenn is lovely. We connected during my time at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America because she has a rare blood cancer. She has inspiring hope no matter what the circumstances, and it is contagious! She is also a great resource for those living with chronic diseases who need a support system.
Tim Fargo: Tim is inspirational and intelligent. His Twitter feed will teach you actionable tips to manage different social media networks while also brightening your day.
Deke Bridges: Deke and I have been following each other for awhile, but really connected over a cancer patient chat I ran at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. He shared his own family’s struggles with cancer, not surprising since his Twitter feed exudes authenticity and a vulnerability that is refreshing to see in the social space.
Jon Woon: Jon is one of the best photographers I have ever met. He has a unique way of capturing every day moments in life that is truly astounding. Not only do I recommend checking him out on Twitter, but his Instagram is also worth a follow.
Laura Bedrossian: Laura was one of the first people I worked with at my first internship in NYC. Her Twitter account is absolutely hilarious. The way she is able to be sarcastic, snarky and funny within 140 characters is a talent within itself.
Gabriel Leete: Gabriel is a great follow for those interested in social media and the web. We have been following each other for years and he is one of the most engaged Twitter users I have come across.
Yadi Cuadrado: Yadi is another must-follow for all things social media. Her perspective on how to use social media for brands is on point and she throws in some sass every now and then that spices up the day.
Wright Thurston: Wright is a professional with copious amounts of leadership experience under his belt. His Twitter feed is peppered with motivational leadership quotes and advice for those who want to be great leaders in life.
Tom Carr: Tom is the head of strategy for the employee advocacy software, Dynamic Signal. He shares compelling content around why brands need to be implementing employee advocacy programs, as well as great case studies around those who are mastering bringing their employees onto social media.
Rodolfo Moreno: For my Spanish-speaking followers, Rodolfo is a good follow. He translates tips from some of the top marketers into Spanish, adding his own viewpoint along the way.
Andrea Meyer: Andrea and I met when she approached me about HopeLine, a program through Verizon that helps victims of domestic violence. Since then she has been a mentor to me, sharing valuable information for women in the corporate world.
Monina Wagner: Monina is the community manager for the Content Marketing Institute, so you know she is sharing what content marketers need to see. Her comments about daily life and happenings in her world add a bit of sparkle among all of the valuable marketing tips.
Michael Harris: Michael and I just met via Twitter when the shootings occurred at the Fort Lauderdale airport last week. He was one of the first reporters to share accurate news around the shootings and has been a pleasure to follow since. If you need to know about things as they happen in South Florida, follow him.
Don Stanley: Don and I bonded over my family’s history with the University of Wisconsin, where Don is a professor. He is a talented digital marketer who shares blogs on how to hone your marketing skills.
Bob Burg: Bob is one of the best Twitter accounts to follow to learn more about how to be an effective leader in the corporate world. One of the things I love most about Bob’s feed is that he is very supportive of other leadership experts on Twitter, sharing their advice and tips through his Twitter.
Lolly Daskal: Lolly is also one of the first people I followed on Twitter, and even with my measly original 73 followers, she was sure to respond to my tweets. She is one of the most authentic, humble leaders I have had the pleasure of tweeting.
Tamara McCleary: Tamara is the go-to for anything and everything that is trending in the marketing world. Not only is she one of the kindest people, she also shares extensive information on how to tap into the current marketing trends.
Erika E. Port: Saving the best for last Erika is a gem on Twitter, constantly speaking up for women who find themselves in abusive situations. She is empowering, though provoking and authentic. More people need to be as vulnerable and real as Erika is on Twitter.
I hope you will take the time to follow these great individuals on Twitter. They have all added invaluable tweets to my feed full of tips for my professional and personal life.
